The OEM Program Specialist supports and coordinates the end-to-end OEM approval and product registration process for automotive lubricants across global and regional OEMs (e.g., BMW, Mercedes- Benz, VW, GM, Ford, Volvo, Renault, MAN, Chinese OEMs), ensuring timely approvals, compliance, and alignment with business strategy. The role translates technical capabilities into commercial value, supports accurate oil recommendations through OEM-based selector tools, and manages country-specific registrations across APAC. By efficiently coordinating approvals & testing, the role accelerates time-tomarket and strengthens portfolio competitiveness.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Areas of responsibilities

OEM Program management:

• Support and execute end-to-end OEM approval programs for automotive lubricants aligned with regional priorities

• Identify and prioritize key approvals (e.g., BMW, Mercedes-Benz, VW, GM, Ford, Volvo, Renault, MAN, Chinese OEMs).

• Work closely with Marketing and Product management to identify critical approvals for key segments (MCO, PCMO and Heavy Duty)

Technical & Marketing Coordination:

• Collaborate cross functionally with R&D, Product management and regulatory to ensure formulation, readiness & compliance.

• Align with additive suppliers on approval pathways

• Support product managers in defining product claims, positioning, and approval strategy

Documentation & Submission:

• Prepare and submit technical dossiers and compliance documentation

• Manage OEM approval portals and certification processes

• Maintain accurate records of approvals, validity, and renewal timelines

Product Registration:

• Support coordination of product performance and country-specific registrations, including: JASO standard, SNI (Indonesia), SIRIM (Malaysia), MOE and other APAC requirements

• Work with regulatory and local teams to ensure compliance with documentation and labeling

• Oil Recommendation & Oil Selector

• Support development and maintenance of oil recommendation guidelines based on OEM specifications

• Contribute to oil selector tools/databases for internal and external use

Provide technical input for product selection based on:

• OEM specifications

• Engine/application requirements

• Ensure alignment of oil recommendations with OEM requirements, product positioning, and market applications.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering with 5–7 years of experience in lubricants, additives, OEM approvals, or technical services. 

• Strong understanding of API/ACEA standards, OEM specifications, engine testing, and lubricant formulation fundamentals. 

• Demonstrates solid project management skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders across regions.
